Royal Ascot is the highlight of the Flat racing season in Britain, with five days of top-class action and this year features an extended schedule of 35 races.
If you are remotely interested in backing/laying/trading the markets in-play then we believe that the meeting presents a unique opportunity. Because the Ascot racecourse is situated in a Royal park, and to quote an official dictum “The administration of the Royal Racecourse is handled on behalf of the Crown by a representative appointed by the Monarch….” then security is paramount and the various drone operators will really struggle to operate.
We do not believe that there will be any drones in operation and that will no doubt significantly change the dynamics of the in-play markets, to the benefit of those of us that do not seek advantage from such pictures.
The TPD GPS data will provide an even greater edge than usual. Coupled with the increased liquidity and an abundance of recreational punters, there may never be a better time to engage with the in-play markets.
You may have already seen that At The Races (ATR) have a micro-site dedicated to the Royal Ascot meeting and on which various insights into the week’s racing are provided.
A key contributor to the above will be an in-play horse racing expert who will write a daily blog for ATR, suggesting various in-play angles that may give rise to wagering opportunities, be that laying a well fancied horse or backing a not so well fancied horse etc.
